Dez semanas e mais/ Ten weeks and more

E o tempo vai passando. Tivemos nossa primeira consulta semana passada – estou com dez semanas! Tudo está correndo bem. O neném está crescendo como esperado. Eu tenho me sentido bem, só MUITO cansada... Espero que a energia volte logo! Depois coloco foto do ultrassom e da barriga aqui pra vocês verem.

Marquinho vai bem. Andando já bem firme pra todo lado. Muito gostosinho. A novidade é a comunicação. No final das contas as primeiras palavras dele não foram nem em Inglês e nem em Português... mas em linguagem de sinais! Pois é, ele parece entender bem os sinais para “mais” e para “acabou” e os usa com frequência quando esta comendo. A tendência é interessante porque ajuda os bebês a se comunicarem antes de desenvolverem a fala. Se quiser aprender um pouco mais clique no link:

Se consideramos palavras faladas acho que as favoritas são “não”, “tchau” (tau) e “fish” (peixe). “Mama” e “dada” saem de vez em quando... mas ainda não estou convencida....

No mais, no início do mês teve o aniversário de primeiro aninho da prima Annabelle que foi muito legal. Também teve chá de bebê da tia Monica e também tia Tati e tio Jake anunciaram a chegada da bebê Gabriela! Seja bem vinda! Finalmente, também tivemos a visita especial do padrinho Bob!



And time is going by. We had our first appointment last week – I am 10 weeks! All is well. Baby is growing as expected. I have been feeling well, only VERY tired… Hope the energy comes back soon! Soon I’ll put pictures of the ultrasound and belly for you all to see.

Marco is well. Walking firmly everywhere. Very cute! The news is communication. Turns out his first words were not is English nor Portuguese… but in sign language! Yes, it seems he understands well the signs for “more” and “all gone” and uses them frequently at meal times. The tendency is interesting and supposedly helps babies to communicate even before they can talk. There are lots of online sources if you’re interested. Now, if we think of the spoken word, I think the favorites are “nao” (no), “tchau” (bye) and “fish”. “Mama” and “dada” come every now and then… but I’m not convinced yet…

Other news, early this month it was cousin Annabelle’s first birthday which was really cool. Also we had a baby shower for aunt Monica. And aunt Tati and uncle Jake welcomed baby Gabriela! Welcome to the world! Finally we had the very special visit of Godfather Bob!
